What is the Risk Workshops event?

The workshops event will be held the day after the Visa Security Summit on Thursday, April 28. Visa will provide a full day of educational workshops that will focus on key risk and security topics for invited clients, merchants, partners and payment card industry service providers.

Half-day sessions will include:

  • The Road to Dynamic Authentication - Insights on EMV migration progress around the world, practical implementation experiences, successes and learnings from experts, and trends in mobile payments security.
    - For issuers, merchants, acquirers, processors
  • Data Security Trends and Best Practices - Information from the trenches about real threats impacting the payment card industry and the continuing breach trends affecting franchise businesses as well as best practices from peers and practical tips for preventing and mitigating the impacts of a data security breach.
    - For merchants, acquirers, acquiring processors, agents
  • Fraud Mitigation and Solutions for Issuers - Global fraud trends, fraud reduction and authorization optimization opportunities and effective fraud-fighting tools and solutions for issuers.

  • Merchant Acceptance Risk and Fraud Prevention - Global merchant acceptance risk trends, legislative and regulatory actions to prevent deceptive marketing practices and fraud, and expert advice about effective merchant fraud-fighting tools and solutions

What is the difference between the Visa Security Summit and the Risk Workshops?

The Visa Security Summit is the first day general session and is open anyone that touches payment security including financial institution executives, merchant representatives, policymakers, academics, law enforcement and thought leaders. The general session generates broad, though-leadership dialogue among various players.

The Risk Workshops will be focused on practical education and know-how for manager-level clients, merchants, partners and payment card industry service providers who work directly in risk or security functions.

What is the deadline for registering?

Registration will close by April 3, 2011 or sooner if space is filled to capacity. At that point, participants will be placed on a waiting list based on space availability. We expect the workshops to reach capacity, so please be sure to register as soon as possible.

Where will the Risk Workshops be located?

The workshops will be held at the same venue as the Visa Security Summit, the Renaissance Hotel, Washington DC. First, register for the summit and workshops. Is there a fee to attend the workshops?

The Visa Security Summit General Session is free to qualified attendees. The $795 workshop registration fee will be waived for the first 200 attendees to register for the workshops.
