Summary of Global Security Summit
Video highlights from Global Security Summit
As part of our commitment to fighting fraud and bolstering payment system growth, Visa Inc. is hosting a security summit in cooperation with the Economist Intelligence Unit. Titled "Securing the Future of Payments," the Summit will take place on March 18-19, 2009, at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington, D.C. This invitation-only forum brings together top Visa and financial institution executives, merchant and government representatives, as well as law enforcement and members of academia, to focus on how the industry can better address payment card fraud.
David DeWalt, Chief Executive Officer and President of McAfee, Inc. will present the keynote address.
Other conference topics at the 2009 Visa Global Security Summit will include:
- Innovations in Payment Security
Data thieves are increasingly sophisticated in targeting card information – both stored and in motion and the impact affects all payment system stakeholders. This panel will explore what the industry must do to reduce the storage of data including compliance with the PCI DSS but also how to make data unusable to the criminals through innovations such as authentication and encryption. - Payment Security: The State of Global Business Readiness; Presented by The Economist Intelligence Unit
Are global companies ready for the security challenges and opportunities presented by the increase in electronic payments? The Economist will unveil a new global study of the world’s executives that will explore how the C-Suite prioritizes payment security and the level of their preparedness. The panel discussion will be the culmination of executive roundtables held in Russia, Singapore, Brazil and Mexico. - Small Business: The New Target of Data Thieves
Criminals have always preyed on the weakest link; now they have their sights on unsuspecting small businesses. Small businesses are increasingly a larger percentage of compromise incidents yet are the least prepared to deal with such challenges to their business. This panel will explore the emerging trend of small business as targets and discuss what must be done to combat this growing problem. - E-commerce
Card-not-present fraud is a growing global problem for all payment participants, but fighting it requires a layering of different local market strategies. This panel will examine the unique and ongoing challenges of conducting commerce in a faceless, cardless internet transaction and the new risk-based techniques, policies and processes the private and public sector are exploring to ensure the continued growth of global e-commerce. - Meet the Experts on Cyber-Crimes and Computer Intrusions
To solve a problem, one must first understand it. This panel of former data hackers and the law enforcement professionals who track them provides a rare glimpse into the mind and motives of today’s data thieves. The panel will explore the latest hacker techniques and the ongoing race for law enforcement and the industry to keep pace.
